Special Issue on Infectious Diseases of Developing Countries

A range of infectious diseases are circulating in the low and middle income countries (LMIC) primarily due to increasing wild life and human interface. These diseases not only pose a serious economic and public health implications but also risk the disease incursion at the epidemic and pandemic levels around the globe. On the face of current COVID-19 pandemic, there are knowledge gaps that need transational transformation to restrict the spread of these infections beyond endemic countries and then to establish bases for eradication.
 
The primary objective of special issue is to collate critical thinking, innovative proposals and to forge international collaboration to tackle this contagion. Therefore, we invite original articles, critical reviews and expert commentaries on all aspects of infectious diseases in developing countries, including but not limited to:

• Evolution and Epidemiology
• Host-Pathogen Interactions – Virulence and Pathogenicity
• Pathogen Mechanisms of Immune Evasion
• Next Generation Disease Control Strategies

• Diagnostics
• Zoonoses and Socio-economic impacts
