ABSTRACT
In order to support the training of research and teaching
staff at the Pakistan Forest Institute (PFI), the German Project
provided scholarships for training abroad. Besides advanced
training in Forest Management and Wood Technology for a period of
about one year in Germany, PFI-Officers were also sent for long-term studies for Ph.D. and M.Sc. degrees in Germany, United Kingdom
and United States. Research was conducted by the officers during
their stay abroad as part of their degree programmes and major
findings of research are briefly described
