ABSTRACT
Forest roads are important means of timber
transportation, forest management, recreation, etc. This
paper describes a study to determine the pay-back time
period of Shinkiari-Kund forest road. It is concluded
that Rs. 3.437 million invested in the 19 km road building will be fully paid back in 4 years. Total
timber to be harvested to break-even with the investment
is estimated at 6,839 m3 (242,000 cft).
