ABSTRACT
In 1979, the German Agency for Technical Cooperation (GTZ)
requested the Faculty of Forestry, University of Munich, to
participate in the evaluation of a project entitled
Development of training and research facilities in Forest Products Engineering and Logging (Forest Engineering)at Pakistan Forest Institute, Peshawar, and later on, i.e. from 1981 onwards, to give advice to this project. The faculty conveyed this honourable and interesting task to my institute. Besides this, the Institute for Silviculture and Forest Management (Prof. Dr. P. Burschel and Prof. Dr. J. Huss) and the Institute for Wood Research (Prof. Dr. H. Schulz and Dr. G. Wegener) were also involved.
