Growth and heritability estimates among six-year-old three geographic sources of Shisham (Dalbergia sissooRoxb.) in Pakistan

ABSTRACT
Half-sib progenies of Dalbergia sissoo Roxb. Tested at
Peshawar gave significant differences among geographic
areas. The broad-sense heritability at 6-year-age for
diameter was 0.83 indicating that the trait is
heritable. Further possibilities of selection and
genetic improvement in the species are discussed in
irrigated plantations of Pakistan.
