The pathogenesis of cystic ovarian disease in cattle involves the deficiency of pre-ovulatory surge resulting from interruption in positive feedback outcome of estradiol on hypothalamus. This disturbance is caused by hypothalamic insensitivity or decreased circulating estradiol concentration (Brito and Palmer, 2004).
