The effect of HCV viral load on SVR. Patients were categorized according to viral load into four groups. In first group patient had viral load ≤ 200000, second group >200000 to 500000, third group >500000 to 800000 and fourth group with >800000 viral load.

The patients were divided into five groups on the basis of plasma ALT values and SVR for each group was determined.

The HCV genotypes were determined among all the investigated patients. The response to drug therapy was evaluated against all HCV genotypes. The results indicate a better response of drug therapy against genotype 3 as compared to the other genotypes.
